Can Eveybody Benefit From Caffeine?

by other on March 25, 2011

Every single place you look, you can find people giving up caffeine. Yes, there are some who are really sensitive to the stuff, but for the most part, it is peer pressure that makes people give it up. There are articles everywhere about how bad caffeine is for everyone. One of the earliest things a recently pregnant woman is told is to give up caffeine. As soon as a person chooses to “get healthy” he or she is usually told “give up caffeine” first thing. The earliest sign that a person wants to get healthier is almost always the relinquishing of caffeine. The truth is that there are numerous benefits connected to caffeine too. It’s true! Keep reading to learn a few of the benefits of ingesting caffeine. . Some recent studies are looking at major league baseball pitchers and the effects of caffeine on players pitching abilities

A research study completed by Harvard University proved that men who consume about four cups of caffeinated coffee every day are a lot less likely to be stricken by Parkinson’s disease. They apparently are convinced it is because caffeine improves the activity of the dopamine molecules in your brain. It might also be because caffeine can lessen adenosine receptors which helps make the brain not as likely to get amyloid-beta. That’s the same stuff that may be thought to cause Alzheimer’s disease. While there aren’t any studies about if caffeine will actually make you smarter (that we know of), being able to minimize the risk of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases is pretty cool.

There is a ton of evidence out there that caffeine elevates the body’s blood pressure. This shows that you’ll be at greater risk for heart disease and even heart failure. Some experiments have also been done, however, that state the opposite. Brooklyn College completed a study that demonstrated some men who drank a few cups of coffee each day were less likely to contract heart problems. The basic thought is that, if you usually are not already affected by hypertension, caffeine won’t make the problem worse. If you do have problems with cardiovascular illnesses, avoiding caffeine is the way to go.

There are a few who believe caffeine may also help when you work out. If you need your muscle fiber to contract, the body must release some calcium. Adenosine can help control that activity. Caffeine blocks the actual brain’s adenosine receptors. While that probably seems erroneous, the simple truth is that if your brain’s adenosine receptors are blocked electrical impulses get set off in your brain. The electro-mechanical impulses make your body release bursts of calcium. Since your muscles will need calcium to exercise, the extra calcium can help you make your workouts more effective. . Just imagine if caution is not taken in reference to the amounts of caffeine consumed on an athlete who is active in sports like Football, hockey or even baseball players. If too much caffeine is consumed it could be very dangerous to say the least.

Obviously if you’d like caffeine to make you better, it needs to be absorbed in moderation. While caffeine could actually help you remain healthy and prevent disease, that isn’t an excuse to go hog wild with the stuff. The real truth is that ingesting too much caffeine is actually bad for you. When ingested in moderation, however, caffeine will surely transform your overall health. Who doesn’t desire to prevent cardiovascular disease? Who doesn’t want to stop Parkinson’s disease? Who doesn’t wish his or her exercise sessions to be more effective? As long as you never over do it, caffeine can really help you with all of that.
